[ubuntu] videos will not play

Hi I'm new to Ubuntu. Problem I cannot play videos in Opera or Firefox. I have Flash 10, GStreamer and the restricted extras. All I get is a blank screen (if I right click I get a Gnash player menu). Any ideas?

[ubuntu] videos will not play

Gnash is a open source flash alternative. Not as good yet. You have it installed. Remove it in Add/Remove or Synpatic.

There are a number of howtos for firefox plugins. This will get you going.

If you are getting a Gnash menu, I am not sure the Flash plugin is installed. In your browser (firefox) address bar, type:
